Description: The Spine Twist is all about increase range of motion in the spine in the transverse plane (rotation), while maintaining the position of the pelvis. ?This exercise also teaches control and body awareness.Start Position: Begin seated on the mat with legs straight out in front and together (or slightly separated). ?Spine should be neutral and pelvis vertical. ?Arms are abducted to the sides, parallel to the floor, with hands in your peripheral vision.To Perform the Exercise:_ Exhale three times ?as you rotate your spine in one direction with three controlled pulses (each turning a little further if possible). ?Inhale and return to the center. ?The breath can be reversed if the client is able stabilize and rotate on an inhale. ?Complete 3-5 sets alternating sides.
