This is a collection of interviews I did at the PMA Teacher's Conference in October of 2017. I was so privileged to interview so many leaders, movers, and shakers in the Pilates field.     Maria Leone has been teaching Pilates since 1989 and training teachers for over fifteen years. Her studio, Bodyline, is in the heart of Beverly Hills and caters to a diverse clientele including celebrities, philanthropists, and Olympic athletes. Maria and her business have been featured in Alure, Elle, Fitness Magazine and Pilates Style. Maria received her BFA from New York University and is part of the Balanced Body faculty.     For nearly two decades, Carrie Pagès has dedicated her work, life, and creativity towards sharing the gifts of Pilates with her students. She is the owner and senior instructor of In Balance Pilates Studio and founder and facilitator of the In Balance Pilates Teacher Training Program. In 2016, Carrie won The Pilates Anytime Next Instructor Competition. Her most recent project, CarriePagesPilates.com, is an online resource for students and instructors to take classes, observe instructional tutorials, watch demonstrations of the classical exercises, and get studio management tips.   • Theo St. Francis Interview ( 0:10:46)

    Theo St. Francis has been exploring the vast landscape of body-reconnection since his 2013 spinal cord injury at the start of his Mechanical Engineering and collegiate swimming careers at MIT. After he fractured his C6 vertebra and immediately lost all movement and sensation below his collarbones for some time, he was introduced to a world of medical rehab which simply wanted to help him live in a wheelchair. Sadly, this is common. Theo had different plans, and a Pilates-based approach to rehab has enabled him to reclaim ownership of his healing journey. After carving out his own independence again and connecting to his body in ways he never knew possible, Theo has now partnered with his longtime trainer Stephanie Behrendt PMA-CPT to connect the worlds of paralysis recovery and mindful movement.     Kathy Corey is a Master Teacher who began her career with the Pilates Technique in 1979. She has been a leading expert in the Pilates community for over 35 years and is the Director of Kathy Corey Pilates. The Kathy Corey Certification Program is taught at locations across the United States and her continuing education programs are taught in over twenty countries. In 2007, she was selected by IDEA as one of ten people in the world "Who Inspire the World to Fitness," the fitness industry's highest form of recognition. Mrs. Corey is a "Distinguished Instructor" for PilatesAnytime.     Nora St. John is the Balanced Body Education Program Director. Nora has been teaching Pilates since 1989 and practicing Pilates since 1980. She began teaching at St. Francis Memorial Hospital where she studied the work with first generation teachers Eve Gentry, Romana Kryzanowska and Carola Trier and contemporary teachers Elizabeth Larkam, Alan Herdman and Jean Claude West. Working primarily with injured clients at the Dancemedicine division of the Center for Sport Medicine, she was constantly modifying and adjusting the traditional work to meet the needs of clients with limitations. After teaching for 17 years, owning Turning Point Studios in Walnut Creek, California and starting the Pilates continuing education conferences Body Mind Spirit and Pilates on Tour, Nora was hired as the Program Director for Balanced Body where she develops curriculum, writes manuals and teaches faculty for the Balanced Body Instructor Training Programs.
