Intermediate Reformer with Circle with Heather 2-12-18 ( 0:40:57)

This is a full body, intermediate level workout on the Reformer adding a Fitness Circle (Magic Circle). Some exercises include just the Circle, some with just the Reformer and the rest with both tools. In this workout, John is joined by Heather Lawson who is the Lead Pilates Instructor at John Garey Fitness & Pilates and a Lead Instructor Trainer for STOTT PILATES. Programming Tips: The recommended springs are for a STOTT PILATES® Reformer. Other manufacturer’s Reformers will need different springs. Please be sure that you or your clients and classes are ready for all of these exercises. Proper assessment and progressions must be completed with each participant in order to assure a safe and effective workout.

This workout is part of a series called Ranch Mat, Level 1. This series was developed because I was a guest Pilates Instructor at Rancho La Puerta for a week. During that week I taught a 45-minute, progressive Pilates Mat Level 1 class each day. There are six workouts in this series. This second workout uses a Flex-Band™ and a Fitness Circle™. My goal was to teach the beginner Mat workout in a way that would have participants coming back each day. This is a progression from day one, but I had more students (word spread about my class from Day 1), so you’ll notice a lot of options. I kept a copy of all of my class notes and turned them into a series for John Garey TV. I hope you enjoy the series. This workout is 45 minutes in length. It is designed as a full body workout to introduce Pilates to new participants. Throughout the video, programming tips are given on how to present the exercises, and the purpose for the selections made. Not all exercises are for everyone, so pick and choose which ones will work best for your client and / or group.
